Breast Lift

Take Years Off Your Figure With A Breast Lift

Breasts change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, aging, gravity and heredity can all cause a sagging and drooping appearance. A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, removes excess skin and tightens the surrounding tissue to reshape and support a new breast contour that can rejuvenate your figure. Breast lift surgery does not significantly change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast.

A breast lift is a good option if you are healthy and maintain a stable weight, do not smoke, and have realistic expectations. If you are bothered by a feeling that your breasts say, have lost shape or volume, have an elongated shape, or your nipples and areolas point downward, a breast lift may well be the right procedure to restore your self-image. At your initial consultation, you’ll learn about the procedure and your options. Be prepared to be honest about your goals and expectations, and your medical history. Be sure to ask any questions you may have at that time.

Sometimes in order to achieve your desired look, surgery is the best option. Our affiliation with the board-certified plastic surgeons at Kevitch, Chung & Jan gives you access to a full range of surgical solutions.

Frequently Asked Questions: Breast Lift

A breast lift is a surgical procedure that elevates the position of the breasts. This surgery is designed to lift sagging breasts to a more youthful, aesthetic position upon the chest.
A qualified plastic surgeon can determine if you are an ideal breast lift candidate. However, a good candidate is someone with drooping breasts, physically and mentally healthy, and familiar with this plastic surgery procedure.
Although there are variations as to how this procedure can be performed; typically, breast tissue is removed and the areola repositioned to a higher position upon the breast. Often, because tissue is removed, breast implant will be used to enhance the size and shape of the breasts.
The procedure typically can take one to three hours to complete, depending on the method being used.
The first few days are the most painful, but discomfort can easily be controlled with pain medications and will soon decrease. After about two weeks patients can return to work (if no heavy lifting is involved). Numbness and bruising may persist for several weeks.
Breast lift results are permanent but the natural aging process, pregnancy/breastfeeding, and weight loss can cause the breasts to sag once again.
